Our Culture

Sometimes, working at Counterpointe means hacking away at code for nine straight hours in order to meet the demands of a valued client. Other times it could mean taking the whole day off to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity or the D.C. Food Bank.

Our culture revolves around a three-fold commitment to our clients, our team, and our community. To our clients, we offer best-in-class customer service and solution quality underwritten by the efforts of a highly driven and talented team. To our communities, we offer our pledge to serve – be it with our time or profits – and make our world a little better one small step at a time. To our team, we make a pledge to offer flexibility, work-life balance, a fun work environment, and the ability to grow with our company. As a prospective team member, this last item is probably of great significance to you.

We at Counterpointe believe it takes more than winning work to win as a company.  The organization that fails to offer its people the ability to develop their careers, continue learning the latest technologies, flex their creative and entrepreneurial muscles, and hone their professional craft is in just as much trouble as the organization that can’t find work.

Our team enjoys a game of flag football on a ferociously hot day at Counterpointe's first annual picnic.

The company takes special care to ensure that staff are allowed to pursue independent development projects, volunteer their time to the community, work on career development activities, give or receive professional mentoring, and peform research and development on the latest advancements in enterprise software development. It’s this time that keeps our team happy and, by extension, our company healthy.

Equally important to this policy is our commitment to career development. To those seeking a traditional technical career path, a combination of professional mentoring, client work, and detailed career development plans ensure you are given ample opportunity to become an expert in your craft, demonstrate your skill, and move on to the next level. For those with an eye towards  management, Counterpointe empowers its staff to demonstrate leadership ability and acquire management expertise necessary to enhance their careers and, by extension, our company.

Finally, Counterpointe is an 8(a) certified minority owned business committed to diversity. Our team members come from a variety of professional and personal backgrounds which we believe is a big part of our success.
